Baseball Recap: Gregory-Portland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ray last Tuesday, Gregory-Portland came back down to earth. Gregory-Portland took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alice Coyotes on Friday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Eddie Sanchez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Gregory-Portland now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Alice, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gregory-Portland will square off against rival Flour Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alice is set to take on their familiar foe King at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
