Football Recap: Albemarle Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Albemarle lost against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy back in November of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 20-6 to the Gryphons. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ray Blakeney threw for 49 yards on four of ten attempts. Jaymi Campbell was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards. On the ground, Aj Butler rushed for 93 yards.

Max Sutton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 77 yards and one TD.

Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Albemarle will head out to take on Mountain Island Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Raptors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Stanly at 7:00 p.m.
