Softball Recap: Houston County Comes Up Short

Houston County fell victim to Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 6-0. The Fighting Irish haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Brilee Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Houston County now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

The timing is sure in the Tigers' favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home while the Red Devils have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
