Campion Academy entered their tilt with Dawson School on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Dawson School Mustangs 35-20. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Mustangs are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Campion Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Victoria Matthews led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to six boards and five steals. Olivia Uphold was another key player, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Campion Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.5 points per game. As for Dawson School, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Campion Academy and Dawson School's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Meanwhile, Dawson School and Golden View Classical Academy (who has only given up 25.2 points per game) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
