Basketball Recap: Murtaugh Takes a Loss

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Murtaugh was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They were dealt a 72-20 loss at the hands of the Mountain Home Tigers. The game marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mountain Home got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Payton Blodgett out in front who went 9 for 15 on her way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Blodgett a new career-high in points. Juli Donez was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and six steals.

Murtaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mountain Home, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Murtaugh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-42 victory against Dietrich on the 9th. As for Mountain Home, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-32 loss against Timberline on the 7th.
