Soccer Game Preview: Austin vs. Westlake

Austin is 1-7 against Westlake since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Austin Maroons will face off against the Westlake Chaparrals at 7:45 p.m.

On Saturday, Austin came up short against Dripping Springs and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Westlake made sure to put some goals up on the board against Akins on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 4-0 victory. The Chaparrals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Westlake is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That lines up perfectly with their 8-0 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. Austin's loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
