Baseball Game Preview: Slinger Owls vs. Oak Creek Knights

The Slinger Owls will head out to challenge the Oak Creek Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Slinger 3.5, Oak Creek 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Oak Creek will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Slinger extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Owls came out on top against West Bend East by a score of 5-1. The five-run effort marked the Owls' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Slinger got a great performance from Will Baumhardt as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Baumhardt a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Payton Tennies, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Oak Creek owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. Everything went their way against Racine Horlick as they made off with a 7-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Slinger's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
