Softball Recap: Casey County's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Casey County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Pulaski County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Harmony Meece put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 7.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.

In other batting news, Emily Jeffries made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Kallie Roy was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Casey County's defeat dropped their record down to 17-16. As for Pulaski County, they moved to 11-20-2 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

As of now, neither Casey County nor the Maroons have any future games scheduled.
