Basketball Game Preview: King's Way Christian Knights vs. Montesano Bulldogs

King's Way Christian hasn't had much luck against Montesano recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The King's Way Christian Knights will challenge the Montesano Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

King's Way Christian will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Elma, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. King's Way Christian took their matchup on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 61-25 win over Elma.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montesano). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Kalama 74-40. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Chinooks are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montesano is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points over those games. As for King's Way Christian, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

King's Way Christian suffered a grim 58-32 defeat to Montesano in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can King's Way Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
