Baseball Game Preview: Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons vs. Viewpoint Patriots

The Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons will take on the Viewpoint Patriots in a tournament on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Doral Academy Red Rock picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Orange Glen. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Doral Academy Red Rock got a massive performance out of Harvey Swann, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Swann has become a key player for the Dragons: the team is 2-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Zaman, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Viewpoint had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Cardinals 17-4. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Viewpoint's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.
