Basketball Recap: Community Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Community Christian Academy played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the LKY Saints 80-39. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-19.

LKY's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Simmon, who went 10-for-18 to rack up 28 points and three steals. Simmon's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Hayley Mattingly was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine assists.

Community Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for LKY, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Community Christian Academy will challenge Christian Educational Consortium at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. LKY does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
