Basketball Recap: Mount Miguel Falls Despite Big Games from Trae'jon Williams and Braylon Cardwell

Mount Miguel lost against Helix last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mount Miguel Matadors took a 57-40 bruising from the Helix Highlanders. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount Miguel's loss came despite strong showings from Braylon Cardwell and Trae'Jon Williams. Cardwell posted 11 points, while Williams had nine points. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played.

Mount Miguel now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Helix, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-16.

Coming up, Mount Miguel will head out on the road to square off against Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Miguel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. As for Helix, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-60 victory against Scripps Ranch on the 8th.
