Softball Preview: Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies vs. Glenn Falcons
The Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies will play host again on Thursday to welcome the Glenn Falcons, where first pitch is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. Plymouth will be strutting in after a win while Glenn will be coming in after a defeat.
After only one run in their last matchup, Plymouth made sure to put some runs up on the board against Triton on Tuesday. Plymouth blew past Triton 16-2. Plymouth's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Aubrey Ferguson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Glenn fell victim to Penn and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 13-0 loss at the hands of the Kingsmen. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Glenn in their matchups with Penn: they've now lost eight in a row.
Plymouth made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-3. As for Glenn, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
