Baseball Game Preview: Pittsfield Generals vs. Mount Everett Regional Eagles

The Pittsfield Generals will head out to square off against the Mount Everett Regional Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Mount Everett Regional will be up against a hot Pittsfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Generals never let Chicopee get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory on Wednesday. Fans of the Generals have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Mount Everett Regional made easy work of Lenox Memorial on Wednesday and carried off a 16-1 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Matt Lowe made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Lowe was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Jacob Kreis was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sean Warren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Mount Everett Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Pittsfield's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Everett Regional, their record is now 3-0.

Pittsfield beat Mount Everett Regional 3-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
