Softball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Commerce finally came back down to earth on Monday. They came up short against the Smith Academy Falcons, falling 14-2. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Nylah Santa was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Smith Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Commerce and Smith Academy will both be playing Hampden Charter School of Science the next time they take the field. The Falcons will head out to face Hampden Charter School of Science at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Raiders will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
