Baseball Game Preview: Northwestern Wildcats vs. Bladensburg Mustangs

Northwestern has gone 8-2 against Bladensburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Northwestern came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Meade by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alberto Weaver made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Meanwhile, Bladensburg was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their 30th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against DuVal, falling 16-3.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Bladensburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Northwestern took their victory against Bladensburg in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
