Basketball Recap: Paxton Piles Up the Points Against Poplar Springs

Paxton waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They really took it to the Poplar Springs Atomics for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-16 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Paxton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenzie Lassiter, who posted ten points. Alyssa Carson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Paxton was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Poplar Springs lost, don't look at Brianna Flores. Despite the final result, she earned five points and six rebounds.

Paxton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Poplar Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Paxton Bobcats face off against the Central Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poplar Springs, they will take on Malone at 5:03 p.m. on Friday.
