Soccer Game Preview: Spanish Fort vs. Theodore

The Spanish Fort Toros will square off against the Theodore Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Spanish Fort has seven straight wins, Theodore has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Spanish Fort is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Davidson, who was ranked 15th at the time (Spanish Fort was ranked 17th). The Toros never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Monday. That's two games straight that Spanish Fort have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Theodore's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 3-1 to Citronelle. That's two games in a row now that Theodore have lost by exactly two goals.

Spanish Fort pushed their record up to 17-3-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those seven games. As for Theodore, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11-3.

Spanish Fort took their win against Theodore when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Toros repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
