Basketball Game Preview: Milton-Union Bulldogs vs. Troy Christian Eagles

The Milton-Union Bulldogs will face off against the Troy Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Milton-Union is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.

Milton-Union is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Franklin Monroe: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Milton-Union blew Franklin Monroe out of the water with a 56-26 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 30 points or more this season.

Jenna Brumbaugh was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Riley Shaw, who went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points.

Milton-Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 21 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Troy Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Covington, falling 51-29. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

Milton-Union pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Troy Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Milton-Union strolled past Troy Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 58-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milton-Union since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
