Basketball Game Preview: Wickenburg Wranglers vs. Kingman Academy Tigers

The Wickenburg Wranglers will venture away from home to take on the Kingman Academy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Wickenburg will head into Monday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They were outmatched by North Valley Christian Academy and fell 78-28. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Wranglers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kingman Academy). They pulled ahead with an 80-79 photo finish over Glendale Prep Academy on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kingman Academy pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Wickenburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Wickenburg couldn't quite finish off Kingman Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 51-49. Can Wickenburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
