St. James is a perfect 4-0 against South Florence since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sharks will be playing at home against the Bruins at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

St. James is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Socastee, who was ranked fourth at the time (St. James was ranked 18th). The Sharks came up short against the Braves on Thursday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Sharks in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost eight in a row.

St. James couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Socastee a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-17, 25-20.

Meanwhile, South Florence lost 3-0 to West Florence on Wednesday.

South Florence was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-22.

South Florence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for St. James, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.

St. James was able to grind out a solid win over South Florence in their previous matchup back in September, winning 2-0. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
