Hesperia had won five straight games dating back to last season and Dylanna Akwaboah did her part to make it six on Thursday. The Scorpions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Granite Hills Cougars thanks in part to Akwaboah, who had seven digs, three aces, and one block. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-16.

Hesperia's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Granite Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hesperia will head out to face off against Fontana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granite Hills, they will face off against Big Bear at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
