Softball Game Preview: Fort Defiance Indians vs. Riverheads Gladiators

The Fort Defiance Indians will square off against the Riverheads Gladiators at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Fort Defiance is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Wilson Memorial just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 11-7 to the Green Hornets. Surprisingly, this marked the Indians' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Riverheads had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 10-2 victory. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Gladiators this season.

Fort Defiance's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Riverheads, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Fort Defiance beat Riverheads 6-2 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
