Softball Recap: East Davidson Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for East Davidson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thomasville Bulldogs a 16-0 shutout on Friday. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kyleigh Hedrick made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hedrick was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, East Davidson got a massive performance out of Kyndall Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nikki Beal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

East Davidson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .957. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

East Davidson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Thomasville, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Davidson beat Thomasville by a score of 17-0 later that day.
