Softball Recap: John Carroll Starts Season with Victory Against North County

John Carroll had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the North County Knights 6-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won eight matchups in a row dating back to last season.

Emily Hildt made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hildt was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Hildt wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kallissa Coats, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Looking ahead, John Carroll will venture away from home to face off against Carver A&T at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North County, they will welcome Mount de Sales Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
