Volleyball Recap: Legacy Longhorns vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies
After flying high against Eldorado last Monday, Legacy came back down to earth. The Legacy Longhorns took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Valley Grizzlies on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Longhorns of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Legacy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-20, 25-14, 25-23.
Spring Valley can attribute much of their success to Mackenzie Means, who had six aces and 17 assists. Those six aces gave Means a new career-high.
Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Spring Valley, they pushed their record up to 19-14 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Legacy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Mojave at 6:00 p.m. As for Spring Valley, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Amplus Academy, where the match is scheduled at 6:00 p.m.
