Football Recap: Colonia Wins Going Away Against Edison

Colonia owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They put the hurt on the Edison Eagles with a sharp 21-0 win. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 27-21 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Dylan Chiera continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 33 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 120 yards on 12 of 23 attempts. Those 33 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Colonia pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.0 points on average over those games. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Colonia is taking a road trip to square off against Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edison, they will be playing at home against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
