Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask L'Anse Creuse). Everything went their way against the New Haven Rockets on Friday as they made off with a 12-1 win.

Tiara Hyles made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kaylene Wirick was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those hits were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ashley Woods, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

L'Anse Creuse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Haven only posted a batting average of .250.

L'Anse Creuse's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for New Haven, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, L'Anse Creuse will take on Cousino at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Haven, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Roseville at 4:00 p.m. The match will give the Rockets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
