Elk Grove has gone a perfect 8-0 against Laguna Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thundering Herd will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Elk Grove's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Laguna Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Elk Grove gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Monterey Trail by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thundering Herd.

Brooklyn Landrum was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Ryann Wolfe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Laguna Creek took on Franklin on Wednesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-3. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Elk Grove's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Laguna Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Everything went Elk Grove's way against Laguna Creek in their previous matchup back in April, as Elk Grove made off with a 13-1 win. Will the Thundering Herd repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
