Verrado had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Buckeye Hawks as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win back in September.

While Verrado won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 27-25.

Alyssa Ortiz paced Verrado's offense, picking up 16 kills. Ortiz got some help from Baylee Wakeham and her 39 assists. Taylor Thomas controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Buckeye saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaycee Proctor had 16 assists and five digs.

Verrado's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Buckeye, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-7.

Verrado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Liberty on the 10th. As for Buckeye, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Paradise Valley on the 14th.
