Softball Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. First Academy came out on top against Calvary Chapel Academy by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-5 two weeks ago.
Rebecca Barnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 14 hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, First Academy got a massive performance out of Ashlyn Neiford, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Neiford also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madi Myers, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
First Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
