Brimfield waltzed into their match on Thursday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Astoria/VIT Rebels a 12-0 shutout. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by seven runs or more this season.

Adelyn Magee and Kendyl Binder did most of the damage at the plate: Magee went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Binder went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Magee has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Anja Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Brimfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive contests.

Brimfield's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Astoria/VIT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brimfield will face off against Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Astoria/VIT, they will take on Brown County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
