Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Tooele Buffaloes

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against Tooele. The Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Buffaloes at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillcrest has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.

Hillcrest lost 21-2 to Tooele on Tuesday.

For Tooele's part, Carson Freeman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Freeman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Higgins, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and two doubles while going 5-for-6. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Barnard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Tooele always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillcrest only posted an OBP of .120.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Tooele, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
