Basketball Recap: Monsignor Farrell Takes a Loss

Monsignor Farrell lost against St. Peter back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Monsignor Farrell Lions were beaten by the St. Peter's Eagles 85-44. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.

St. Peter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Saliou Diokhane, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Diokhane's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Talib Martin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Monsignor Farrell now has a losing record at 4-5. As for St. Peter's, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Monsignor Farrell will welcome Fordham Prep at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for St. Peter's, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 75-59 defeat against Archbishop Stepinac on the 21st.
