Basketball Recap: Bonita Springs Comes Up Short

Bonita Springs lost against Fort Myers back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bonita Springs Bullsharks were outmatched by the Fort Myers Green Wave and fell 52-21.

Bonita Springs' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyleigh Weick, who posted nine points, and Sydney Swanner, who had seven points.

Fort Myers' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Juliya Smith, who put up four points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Smith is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Cedar Reilly was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Bonita Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fort Myers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Bonita Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-29 win against Island Coast on the 19th. As for Fort Myers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-41 victory against Ida Baker on the 19th.
