Football Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sheldon had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-10 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Laguna Creek Cardinals, falling 42-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 63-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Sheldon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jordon Harris.

As for Laguna Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 7.2 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.1 in the others.

Leading Laguna Creek to victory were Levi Ramos and Ryan Eddy. Ramos rushed for 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Eddy gained 79 total yards and a touchdown. Ramos also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Cardinals are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Another big playmaker for Laguna Creek was Keian Smith, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Sheldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laguna Creek, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pleasant Grove at 7:15 p.m.
