Softball Recap: Blue Mountain Wins Going Away Against Williamstown

Blue Mountain got themselves on the board against Williamstown on Thursday, but Williamstown never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 20-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bucks, who have now won six games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Kaylee Hamlett was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Hamlett was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maya Christy, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Kingsbury, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

The victory made it two in a row for Blue Mountain and bumps their season record up to 9-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Williamstown, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Blue Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Bellows Free Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Williamstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
