Basketball Game Preview: Red Cloud Warriors vs. Hershey Panthers

The Red Cloud Warriors will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Hershey Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Cloud is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Red Cloud is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Alma on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Red Cloud had to suffer through a 74-36 loss at the hands of Alma. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Cardinals are ranked 43rd).

Despite their defeat, Red Cloud saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Josie Faimon, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Rust, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, Hershey entered their game against Ogallala on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Hershey came up short against Ogallala, falling 68-44.

Red Cloud's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hershey, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
