Baseball Recap: University Takes a Loss

Palisades hit University with a eight-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 15-6 to the Dolphins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dolphins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 on April 5th.

University has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Palisades, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. University will take on rival Fairfax at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Palisades is set to square off against their familiar foe Venice at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dolphins 3.2, the Gondoliers 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
