Baseball Recap: Weslaco Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Weslaco challenged Edinburg North on Tuesday. The Panthers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to the Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Diego Castillo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Weslaco now has a losing record of 12-13-1. As for Edinburg North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-21.

While Weslaco had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
