Baseball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

Everett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Malden Golden Tornados. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Tornados this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

The result came thanks to Derek Soper's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, MJ Guida was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chris O'Neil, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Malden, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Everett has already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Greater Lawrence Tech on the 26th. Malden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
