Softball Recap: Denbigh Wins Going Away Against Woodside

Denbigh hadn't done well against Woodside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Patriots blew past the Wolverines 22-7. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by eight runs or more this season.

London Fate made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Fate was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Denbigh got a massive performance out of Alieyah Bullock, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kimani Grady also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Denbigh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Denbigh and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Woodside, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Denbigh will head out on the road to take on Churchland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodside, they will be playing at home against Warhill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
