Basketball Recap: American Heritage Stallions vs. Pine Crest Panthers

After soaring to 68 points the game before, the American Heritage Stallions were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. Their rough 42-20 defeat to Pine Crest might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points American Heritage has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why American Heritage lost, one person who can't be blamed is Skylar Turk. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. That was a full 75% of American Heritage's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Franky Garfi was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds for Pine Crest. The team also got some help courtesy of Natasha Sangha, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.

American Heritage's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Pine Crest, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

American Heritage will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pine Crest, they will square off against the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
