Recap: Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors vs. Constitution Generals
The Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Constitution at home by a decisive 73-54 margin. While losing is never fun, Sankofa Freedom Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Constitution is ranked 56th).
Perry Fields was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds for Constitution. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fields has scored at least 25% of Constitution's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Speights, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Sankofa Freedom Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Constitution, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sankofa Freedom Academy will face off against Frankford at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Constitution, they will head out on the road to face off against Octorara Area at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Octorara Area is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
