Basketball Recap: Malachi Damm Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cedar Key

Cornerstone Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cedar Key Sharks by a score of 50-43. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Sharks back in November of 2024, they had to take a 57-46 loss.

Cornerstone Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Damm out in front who posted 12 points. That's the most points Damm has posted since back in November of 2024. Joa Walters was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Cornerstone Academy pushed their record up to 7-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Cedar Key, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Cornerstone Academy has already played their next game, a 57-51 win against Corinth Christian Academy on the 31st. Cedar Key has also already played their next matchup (against Northside Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
