Gulf takes loss despite strong efforts from Tajinae Bonney and Ariana Rodriguez

The Gulf Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Robinson 60-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Gulf has suffered since November 28, 2023.

Despite the defeat, Gulf had strong showings from Ariana Rodriguez, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds and two steals, and Tajinae Bonney, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Gulf has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Robinson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Gulf and Dunedin will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Robinson on the road again on Tuesday and play against Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
