Volleyball Game Preview: Pontotoc Warriors vs. Saltillo Tigers

The Pontotoc Warriors will challenge the Saltillo Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pontotoc saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Tupelo Christian Prep by a score of 2-1. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-18 in the first set.

Pontotoc started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Saltillo gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past Alcorn Central 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 26-24.

Pontotoc was able to grind out a solid win over Saltillo in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
