Preview: Linganore Lancers vs. Catoctin Cougars
Linganore is 4-0 against Catoctin since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Linganore Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Catoctin Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Catoctin took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Linganore, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Linganore escaped with a win against North Hagerstown by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Linganore.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Linganore to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Donaldson, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Christian Petruzzello was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Catoctin suffered a tough 77-51 defeat at the hands of Williamsport on Friday.
Linganore's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Catoctin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Linganore beat Catoctin 67-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Linganore repeat their success, or does Catoctin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
