Merritt Island won the last time they faced Cocoa Beach and things went their way on Monday too. The Merritt Island Mustangs snuck past the Cocoa Beach Minutemen with a 51-45 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Despite the defeat, Cocoa Beach saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tristan Louis made all 5 shots he took for 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayesiah Carr, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Merritt Island's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Cocoa Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Merritt Island will welcome Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cocoa Beach, they will venture away from home to take on Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
