Baseball Recap: North Judson-San Pierre's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

North Judson-San Pierre dropped their record down to 12-10 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the North Miami Warriors by a score of 9-8. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2015.

North Judson-San Pierre saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Christensen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Douglas Reed was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

As for North Miami, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

On North Miami's side, Ray Pickett made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pickett has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ryan Meredith was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

While North Judson-San Pierre had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
